Property & Evidence

The Property & Evidence Unit is responsible for the storage and disposition of all property or evidence collected by members of the police department during the course of their duties. Staffed by two Property Clerks, the unit processes approximately 5,000 items of property and evidence per year by booking the items into the property system. Tens of thousands of pieces of property and evidence are maintained in the Property Unit and are verified, adequately cataloged, and stored until needed for court release or other disposition. The Property Clerk is also responsible for releasing and disposing of items pursuant to applicable law.
