Internship and Volunteer Programs

The City welcomes students interested to learn and have meaningful hands-on experience working in a public sector environment.  We have paid internships and volunteer opportunities in various departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Community Development, Management Services, Parks & Recreation, and the Alhambra Civic Center Library.

Please contact us at the Human Resources Department to know of any volunteer opportunities throughout the City.

Safety Cadet Programs

Our Volunteer Fire Cadet Program is for aspiring Fire Fighters.  It is a great way to learn more about the profession with the program being focused on enhancing and improving your skills, while preparing and separating yourself from competition.  The City prides itself in homegrown talents at the Alhambra Fire Department.

Our Police Cadet Program is for aspiring law enforcers.  Police Cadets will have the opportunity to receive citizens at the front counter, attend to their requests, and provide information as it pertains to the Police Department services.  You will be able to observe and experience the inner workings of a law enforcement agency.

The Volunteer Fire and Police Cadet Programs and paid internship opportunities are posted in our career site.  If you are interested, please apply and submit an application online through GovernmentJobs.
