Superstars Club
Superstars program is for 5-7year-old children to learn the basic rules and skills of four different sports activities. Superstars Club emphasizes participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Participants must turn 5 years old by the start date in order to participate. The fee includes a club jersey and registration for all eight weeks of sports and fun. This is a summer program please call the recreation office at (626) 570-5081 for more information. The total cost is $45, which includes a $30 fee and an additional $15 charge for the jersey.

Youth Basketball
Learn the basics of speed, agility, strategy, and sportsmanship. Practice takes place at the After-School Playground Sites during the After-School Program time. Games are played at Almansor Park. The program concludes with All-City Playoffs and Championships.

Cheerleading
Provides basic cheerleading skills, including rhythm, choreography, showmanship and team cooperation. Practice is held weekdays at an After-School site. Participants cheer at City of Alhambra Flag Football games held at Almansor Park. Registration begins August 14, 2023 and the mandatory parent's meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on September 14, 2023 at 5 PM. Concludes with the All-City Cheerleading Championships on Saturday, November 18, 2023.
Drill Team
Provides drill team skills, including performing drills to music, marching, commands, choreography, showmanship, and team cooperation. Drill Team clinics are held on Thursdays at Almansor Park. Concludes with the All-City Drill Team Championships.

Flag Football
The City of Alhambra’s flag football program will emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship. Players from all 9 elementary schools will learn football techniques such as passing and blocking. Practices will take place at the school sites weekdays after school and games are played at Almansor Park. Registration begins August 14, 2023 and the season starts on September 19, 2023. The mandatory parent's meeting will be held via Zoom on September 7, 2023.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
The Community Services Department is seeking volunteer coaches to assist with the youth sports, cheerleading, and drill team programs. Individuals interested in becoming a volunteer coach or an assistant coach must submit a Volunteer Application Form during the registration period of the sports activity they are interested in coaching. A volunteer application can be obtained at the Recreation Division office - 800 South Almansor Street or online by downloading the Volunteer Application.
