Are you ready for a disaster?

After an earthquake or other major disaster, the immediate response of emergency personnel in one's neighborhood may not be possible for several days.

The CERT program has been developed to train resident volunteers to provide neighborhood assistance until emergency agencies can respond.  CERT (which stands for Community Emergency Response Team), is based on a series of training sessions where volunteers are
exposed to the basics of fire safety, search & rescue, disaster medical training, utility control and more.

 What You'll Learn:

  • Emergency disaster preparedness - how to prepare for a major disaster by making homes safer and stocking supplies that are important to have in the home in case
    of an emergency.
  • First Aid - how to perform life-saving techniques such as first-aid, fire suppression,
    light search and rescue.
  • Communications and Good Team Work - development of these skills is very
important to being successful in this program and the instructors emphasize
    them in the training.
