Temporary Overnight Parking Permits (Spanish / Chinese)
Permits are obtained from the "Parking Permit Dispenser" installed in the front lobby of the Alhambra Police Department, located at 211 South First Street. The permits are available for purchase from the dispenser, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The cost of one night of temporary overnight parking is $2. At any one time, up to ten nights may be purchased from the dispenser, using either coins or bills up to $20 in value. Change will be given in dollar coins. To validate the Temporary Overnight Parking Permit, the complete license plate number, or if there is not license plate, the last four numbers of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be clearly written in the space provided. The permit must be displayed face-up on the driver's side of the dashboard and must not cover the VIN number. Vehicles with out-of-state license plates are required to display a permit. Exemptions include: vehicles displaying a handicap license plate or placard; trailers that are not self-propelled either standing alone or attached to a vehicle. Yearly permits can be purchased from the Finance Department. For more information, call (626) 570-5020.

Annual Overnight Parking Permits
Individuals seeking an Annual Overnight Parking Permit can now download an application from this site (click here for an application). After completing the application, return it to the Finance Department for approval. Approvals are only granted after the Alhambra Police Department determines that there is not adequate off-street  parking for the vehicle. The Finance Department issues annual parking permits for $45 per year for the first year and $35 upon renewal. For more information, call (626) 570-5020.

RV Parking Restrictions
The Alhambra Municipal Code has been amended to help eliminate some of the blight caused by oversized vehicles being habitually parked on city streets overnight.  For years, the Municipal Code has had regulations governing the parking of vehicles overnight on city residential streets.  The amended ordinance prohibits the overnight parking of commercial vehicles in the industrial areas of the city.  A recent survey showed that of over 40 commercial (tractor-trailer rigs, unattached trailers, and business trucks), and recreational vehicles parked in the industrial area of the city, only six were registered in Alhambra.  It appears that people from adjoining areas were using the industrial streets of Alhambra to store their vehicles when not in use.  These vehicles have become targets for graffiti and other types of vandalism, make street sweeping impossible, and create blight in the industrial areas.

The amendments eliminate the unlimited storage of recreational vehicles and living in recreational vehicles on city streets.  It is now against the law to live in a recreational vehicle on a public street in Alhambra.  Recreational vehicles are also now prohibited from parking overnight without a valid 72 hour permit that must be obtained from the Alhambra Police Department Traffic Section.  This permit will only be issued for the purpose of loading or unloading a recreational vehicle either before or after a trip.

Parking Citations
The Finance Department processes payments for parking citations only (not moving violations) obtained within the City limits. Please remit payments in person or by mail to: City of Alhambra, Finance Department, 111 S. First St., , Alhambra, CA 91801. To contest a citation, you may request an Administrative Review within 21 days from the date of issuance of the citation or 10 days of the mailing of the Late Notice. To request a review, please do so in writing, stop by the Finance Department Customer Service counter, or call (626) 570-5020.
